Laon Medi Earns 2026 Gyeonggi Family-Friendly Workplace Certification Laon Medi, a specialist in AI-powered digital orthodontic solutions, has received the 2026 Gyeonggi Family-Friendly Workplace Certification, awarded under a program led by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator. Previously selected as a Promising SME of Gyeonggi Province in 2025, Laon Medi has now received external recognition for its family-friendly workplace environment. The achievement is significant as the company has secured both a certification recognizing its technological competitiveness and growth potential and another evaluating its working environment and family-friendly policies. The Gyeonggi Family-Friendly Workplace Certification is a program designed to identify and support companies and institutions in Gyeonggi Province that implement family-friendly policies to help employees balance their work and family lives. Since launching the program in 2010, Gyeonggi Province has worked to promote a family-friendly workplace culture across the region. The certification process evaluates not only the adoption of relevant policies but also their actual implementation and employees' perceptions of their effectiveness. Key assessment criteria include management's commitment to family-friendly practices, business stability, working conditions, family support policies, and employee satisfaction. Final selections are made following document reviews, on-site inspections, and deliberations by a certification committee. This year, 89 companies and institutions were selected from 167 applicants, including 52 newly certified organizations and 37 recertified organizations. Laon Medi develops and delivers digital orthodontic solutions centered on Laon Ortho, its AI-powered clear aligner software. The software supports dental professionals in treatment planning through AI technologies such as automatic tooth segmentation and orthodontic setup. This certification recognizes the working environment and family-friendly policies supporting the team responsible for developing and commercializing these solutions. Certified organizations may receive support for improving family-friendly workplaces, preferential treatment in SME development funding, and additional points in evaluations for corporate support programs. Through this certification, Laon Medi has also strengthened its access to policy support that can help foster a workplace environment and implement practices that support work-life balance.

AI 디지털 교정 솔루션 전문기업 라온메디가 경기도와 경기도경제과학진흥원이 추진하는 ‘2026년 경기가족친화 일하기 좋은 기업’ 인증을 획득했다. 지난해 ‘경기도 유망중소기업’으로 선정된 라온메디는 이번 인증으로 가족친화적 직장환경에 대해서도 대외적인 인정을 받았다. 기술 경쟁력과 성장 잠재력을 평가하는 유망중소기업 인증에 이어, 근무환경과 가족친화제도의 운영을 평가하는 인증까지 확보했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. ‘경기가족친화 일하기 좋은 기업’ 인증은 근로자가 일과 가정생활을 조화롭게 병행할 수 있도록 가족친화제도를 운영하는 도내 기업·기관을 발굴하고 지원하는 제도다. 경기도는 2010년부터 이 제도를 운영하며 지역 내 가족친화적 직장문화 확산을 추진해 왔다. 인증 심사는 제도의 도입 여부뿐 아니라 실제 운영 실적과 구성원의 체감도를 함께 살피는 방식으로 진행된다. 경영진의 가족친화경영 의지, 기업 안정성, 근무환경, 가족지원제도, 재직자 만족도 등을 평가하며, 서류심사와 현장실사, 인증위원회 심의를 거쳐 최종 인증기업을 선정한다. 올해는 총 167개 신청 기업 가운데 신규 인증 52곳과 재인증 37곳 등 89개 기업·기관이 선정됐다. 라온메디는 AI 기반 투명교정 소프트웨어 ‘Laon Ortho(라온올쏘)’를 중심으로 디지털 교정 사업을 전개하고 있다. 치아 자동 분리와 교정 셋업 등 AI 기술을 활용해 의료진의 치료계획 수립을 지원한다. 이번 인증은 이러한 솔루션을 개발하고 사업화를 이어가는 구성원들의 근무환경과 가족친화제도 운영을 평가받은 성과다. 인증기업은 가족친화 직장환경 개선을 위한 지원과 함께 중소기업 육성자금 우대, 기업지원사업 평가 시 가점 등을 받을 수 있다. 라온메디도 이번 인증을 통해 일·가정 양립을 지원하는 근무환경 조성과 제도 운영에 도움이 되는 정책적 지원 기반을 확보했다.

Laon Medi, a dental AI company with expertise in AI-powered orthodontic analysis, treatment planning automation, and multimodal AI technologies for healthcare, has been selected to lead a KRW 2.5 billion government-funded project aimed at advancing digital orthodontic AI technology. The project, supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of Korea (MSS) under the 2026 Promising Technology Development Program, is a domain-specific AI development project designated as a national strategic technology initiative. Laon Medi will serve as the lead R\&D organization, working with its research and industry partners to advance AI-based orthodontic treatment planning and develop an AI Agent that can interact and collaborate with clinicians in diagnosis and orthodontic treatment planning. At the core of the project is the development of an Intelligent Digital Orthodontic Planning AI Agent based on multimodal oral data and a dental knowledge graph. The system is designed to integrate and analyze various types of oral data and provide diagnosis and treatment planning support based on accumulated dental knowledge. The project will also establish an environment in which multiple AI agents can work together, helping streamline orthodontic planning tasks that require advanced clinical knowledge and complex 3D operations. Laon Medi aims to reduce the time required for individual orthodontic planning tasks to less than 30% of current working time, significantly improving efficiency and productivity. A Laon Medi representative said: “The domain-specific AI development project is an extension of Laon Medi’s ongoing efforts in orthodontic AI and automation, and reflects the recognition of the technological direction we have pursued. We will further advance AI Agent technology to create a new orthodontic planning environment in which clinicians and AI can work together, while strengthening our competitiveness in the global orthodontic AI market.” The two-year project is supported by the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs and Startups (TIPA) with a total budget of KRW 2.5 billion. As the lead organization, Laon Medi will receive approximately KRW 1.7 billion in R\&D funding, the largest share of the project budget. Dental manufacturing companies including Sisrootech, BioSetec, and Realigner will participate as R\&D partners, while Yonsei University Dental Hospital and Jeonbuk National University Dental Hospital will participate as commissioned research institutions. Through collaboration among AI technology developers, dental manufacturers, and university hospitals, the project aims to validate the technology in real-world clinical and manufacturing environments and connect the research outcomes directly to commercialization. The participating organizations will also work to establish AI-powered orthodontic solutions that can enhance the global competitiveness of Korean dental manufacturers.
